I need some help on how to get this fender off!!!
Guys, I need some help from the forum. I am in the process of removing my passenger side fender since the wreck. I have removed all of the bolts inside the hood, and removed all of the PITA bolts from the inside of the fender as well. I alos got the allen wrench volt out with the door open. I have run a srewdriver blade all of the way down the seam between the fender and the hood panel. I have pounded, pulled, and basically done everything I can to remove this thing, but it feels like it is still bolted on to the car.
Has anyone else out there removed their fender, and if so, do you have any idea's why this thing doesn't want to come off??? This has got to be the best mounted fender that I have ever seen on a car. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks guys
Scott

I'm pretty sure I've read here that they are tack welded in a couple of places. You just (!) need to grind the tack welds off. Then simply bolt it back in place. No need to re-weld.

I'll take some pics of the fender tomorrow. I took a hammer and flat head screw driver along the entire fender line and I can't get the fender to come off. I literally pulled on it as hard as I can and I can only get it to move a little bit. Any ideas where those tack welds could be and if they are accessable with an angle grinder???
Again, thanks for any ideas, I got so frustrated with it this afternoon I was literally cursing the person that put the fender on at the factory.
I'll get some pics, to see if there is something that I'm missing
Thanks

Did you get the one in the head light bucket and the two that are accessible only when the door is opened? They are below the windscreen but above the door hinge.

Wow,
Does that mean you have to remove the door or will a die grinder get in there?

When I repainted my cab, I dremmeled the two tack welds on top of the fenders and removed all the bolts holding the fenders to the chassis. Even then, I have a b*tch of a time removing the fenders because of the rubber underbody sealers that was used at the factory to seal up the area where the fenders meet the chassis. I had to use a razor blade to cut through the rubber sealers that are along the fender underside seams. It was alot of work but the next time I take my fender off, it'll come out very easily.

Ok, so when looking for these tack welds inside the fender, is there a distinguishing feature to the exact spot that they are located at. With all of the undercoating on these cars...

+11111 on doing a good job with a razor knife and the undercoating - that stuff holds it on better than the bolts - you will never get it off without making sure you have cut the seam very well. I hit the tack welds with a dremel.
