Default RS America-- Production Figures

Does anyone know the production figures for the RS America?

I searched but couldn't find any exact numbers. Just that they seem to be "rare."

Just to sound like an echo, 701 is the number I've seen quoted. Not the rarest porsche ever, but rare enough. And only about half as many RSA's built as the legendary 73 RS. And yet, there always seems to be several for sale at any given time.

701 - I have one of them and am an original owner, and would buy another if I could convince my wife that this made any sense I love the car more now then the day it was new. I also agree - go to Keith's site.......

701, but curiously, there are always several on the open market, but fewer C2 coupes.

But are there any non-sunroof coupes for sale?

Sure, all it costs is $3,000 extra for any C2 to be a non-sunroof model. Want +1" head room and -44 lbs, just get out the checkbook.

RSA’s are very rare, maybe 2 or 3 cars world wide. I’ve only seen one pic of that car. Rumour says that they are a clone of the Euro RS but better. The body is seam welded twice, the engine is a unique R-version from the Motorsport Departments most secret work shop. The rear fenders are rolled for those 11” rear wheels and the interior is made of ultra light carpet made of titanium fibres and the seats are made of a special Nomex cloth. The gearbox and the suspension are so special there aren’t even any rumours!

Have a nice weekend!

You forgot to mention the lightweight crinkle finish, and the fact that the white ones are fastest.

Actually there were 3 production runs of the RSA to make that 701 number. Only the first run had the Rolled fenders, and crinkled paint under the hood.

I can park my 1993 RSA next to a good friend's car - who has an identical Black 1993 RSA. But his was produced in the second run, after mine first production run RSA. Unlike mine, there is No rolled fenders, and no crinkled paint under the hood on his. His non-sunroof RSA is probably NOT one of the left over seam welded Euro RS tubs like my non-sunroof RSA probably is

Seriously thought - THANKS! I love people spreading stories and mysteries about the RSA. Keeps the resale value up. Keeps the desire high. Spread all the stories you want

Mine was the 17th RSA built. Guess it was part of the first run (and has no sunroof)

Have to agree, white ones are the fastest. Just ask Keith. He has some personal experience finding that out the hard way (Sorry Keith)

FWIW, and not to start/ perpetuate aother RSA thread, my car is second build with crinkle finish and rolled fenders.
