Default 964 Brake Update

I want to do a race upgrade for my 964 C2 - brakes:

Front:
- 928 GTS calipers (928-351-423-03 // 928-351-424-03)
- 965 Rotors ( 965-351-045-00 // 965-351-046-00)
- Adapters (where to buy this in europe ? Only * FVD 351 964 499 ???)

** Is all correct ????

Rear:
- Stock 964 calipers (30/28 pistons) and stock 964 rotors
Or
- 993 rear (what's porsche code?) calipers (30/34 pistons) and stock 964 rotors
=
????????????????????????????

PS: To mount 928GTS calipers what kinds of changes should I do (apart from adapters) ? There is an "how to do" on the web? I was unable to find it.

Thanx.
Bye bye.

965 rear rotors won't work on a n/a 964. Use either 951 352 041 02 plain stock 964n/a rear rotor or 951 352 041 91 drilled 968 M030 rotors. Both of these are 24x299mm and can be used w/ either stock 964(28/30) rears or 993 rears. 993 rear is by far the better choice due to it's larger 30/34 mm pistons(993.352.421.21 & 993.352.422.21)

Hi Bill.

Appreciate all your brake expertise and the nice posts on Pelican. Do you know if the 993 rears were available in red from the factory?

Thx.

No, just silver and black, the #s above 993.352.421.21 & 993.352.422.21 are silver, 993.352.421.00 & 993.352.422.00 are black

Of course there may have been some special wish cars too.

Take a look at this article http://webpages.charter.net/sansho/P...rticle0407.doc . It spells out a lot of the parts that you need. It helped me a lot in putting mine together.

There was an article in the PCA mag about the options for brakes on the 964 and what you can change out - I made a copy and will have to check to see if I can find it - send me your fax and I will send --

That's the one I linked to, the one by Bob Gagnon and Bill Gregory, was in Pano back in 2005.

Davisriley-
when i clink on your link it didn't work - I got the following -
"
Not Found

The requested URL /sansho/P...rticle0407.doc was not found on this server.

Can you check the link as that would be great info for daking to have - and I would appreciate it also as I find that I fax this info out quite often -

928GTS are just black Big Reds. After the bleeds and feeds are swapped yopu can bolt them to any of the following(in order of increasing desireability
axial to radial caliper adaptors
964t/964RS steel uprights
993 aluminum uprights
993RS/EVO aluminum uprights

use 322x32 rotors

993 rear calipers

stir in p/v to suit

Can I mount "not drilled" rotors for the FRONT, instead of "965 Rotors ( 965-351-045-00 // 965-351-046-00)" ??
If it is YES, what's the code ?

** DAVISRILEY : Thanx, good article :-)

**Bill Verburg: Thanx, i've read your guide, very interesting. Weel done.
