And you can clearly see why they are a pain to install. You end up with two rather ugly screws in full view. Its not a clean install, or at least I don't think it is. I think those splitters are great looking, if only they didn't come with those screws like that. or they could come without the need to drill them. Replacing the entire front plastic pans would be so much easier and surely would fit better.

Come on rennsport, can't you figure that out? :-)

Here's a pic of mine.

<---------(avatar)

It's from www.rennspd.com and was a snap to install, just drill holes where the marks are and put in longer screws from stock length that held the undertray pieces on...this one replaces the undertray.

FWIW, in my opinion, with a 964 that only has the "pop-up" wing, I would look into the Ruf type spoiler, looks nice...anything larger than that and it kinda looks out of place.

But then you would have the factory S splitters and they cost too much. Last few sets I have seen sold for about $500. I was lucky to find mine at a reasonable price. I found the Tech art to be a very easy install. Although I am sure these are copies made from the originals. The down side to the tech art is the entire tray is fiberglass and not as resilient to damage as the factory trays.

MA Shaw makes a Carbon Fiber version of the factory splitter pieces and IIRC they have the recessed holes in them for a seamless fit. Although they will take some time to fit properly.

Here is my factory Splitter (one side) You can see how they are secured to the tray. There are only three rivets holding them in place. Shouldn't be that difficult to do once you get them located properly.

Southampton 76.....

I agree........but the client didn't want to pay for the full one piece bottom part or to send them to the body shop to have them molded in.

Don't you think it looks more race car like though with them screwed in place ?

Is this a track car? Isn't that a sensor for the radar detector I see?

BTW where did you source the brake ducts?

That is a laser jammer. Looks hokey eh ?

It is a street car. The ducts came from Rennspeed.

yes, but I don;t think he wanted that in the first place. They are just a royal PITA to fit on top of the undertrays thats why I went with the techart.

Maybe I was lucky to get a great splitter from renspeed. I had absolutley no troubles at all putting on my 3.8 rs splitter. I marked all the holes with liquid paper to drill. Added washers to the screws for extra support and needed to get two longer screws for the centre. Matter of 30 minutes it looked like it was from the factory. If you really want to finish it up nicely, get the rubber gasket that goes around the side skirts for a perfect fit. I will be using them when I instal the new ones on my cab.

And you guy call yourselves DIY'rs. LOL........

You might want to check with Mike Shaw over the holes. I bought a pair and they didn't have the holes in them. Decided to go with Rennspeed in the end.
