Post stranger to my strange car

...undertray?

What is this... undertray... of which you speak?
(Is it like an engine diaper? If so, I think my car grew out of them when it was about 2-1/2 years old.)

OFF !! I understand that the tray was fitted to satisfy swiss noise regulations and there si really no need for it unless you 're swiss

OFF for sure. Less heat soak on the engine. Not so sure about the aero benefits either. I have seen an indicated Buck 62 on the speedo without the tray which is I think just about stock top speed, so does the tray really matter?

Only if your engine leaks oil all over your driveway.

Off no need other than to trap oil and dirt. The 964 turbos top out at 180 and they don't have a tray.

Mine's off too, but the (heat?) shields around the engine are still on. I know at least a few people have removed these too, does any harm come from this?

I don't know yet as the car hasn't arrived. Estimated arrival sometime late next week.

The last 1.5 months without a Porsche has been very difficult. Like with my previous 993 - it will be OFF once I have the car.

Mine´s is off but only because the damn christmas tree is still around, when it is solved I plan to put it on just because you can find lots of debris and other stuff on the roads here
