Default SOLD: Immaculate CUP 1's for sale.

Hi all,

I am in Ireland, so I guess I will be selling these to someone in the UK or Ireland. These came with my car but the car which is for sale soon.... so these are for sale now. They are completely immaculate without one scratch and have very good tyres on them as follows:

2 Continental Contact Sport 205/50/ZR17 on the rears
2 Pirelli 255/40/ZR17 on the front.

I am selling them for only 900 euro, people have paid 1,300 sterling for wheels alone I have heard. I am in Dublin and will arrange shipping at buyers cost… or you can collect from me!

Update: Offsets are ET47 Rear and ET52 Front

Any interest you can call me on 0035387 6695002 or 087 6695002 from Ireland... PM me also.

As and FYI, I think those are aftermarket Cup 1s, not factory Porsche Cup 1s. They are in my opinion better wheel sizes than the factory.

+1 Based on the pictures, they are certainly not the factory Cup 1's. Still a decent set of wheels nevertheless.

I am looking at getting some Cup 1 wheels. To help me learn something could somebody explain to me how you can see from the pictures that these weren't original? I don't want to hijack the thread just learn the difference.

Factory wheels invariably have the width and offset cast into the rim next to the valve - and that is not apparent on the photos above. Also, replica wheels usually, for no reason that I can establish, have much less clearance between the lug holes and the centre cap. You can see in the pictures that there is very little gap between the two with these wheels.

I should say that not ALL Porsche wheels have the width and offset cast into the rim - but Cup 1s do.

Regards

Dave

Well ... not meaning to be argumentative ... but I've seen genuine Porsche part number Cup 1 9 1/2s that did not have the widths and offsets cast next to the valve stems.

Are you saying you can determine the sizes of these wheels from these photos?

I updated the above post with the offsets. Also, there is the following stamped inside the wheels:

Front: 7½JX17H2 ET52 423 376

Rear:9JX17H2 ET 47 419 375

The notion I've heard is that the aftermarket maker had to assume a wider selection of tools and nuts -- and their req'd, larger clearances -- than just Porsche-sourced 'slim socket' tools and alloy nuts. ("I hear things. I hear things..." -- Jake LaMotta, Raging Bull)

Also, they might be treading into design infringement/licensing issues(?) if those holes and the design were sized the same?
(That last one's just a high-flyer of mine. Purely speculative.)

Hey. It's just getting a FULL engine rebuild done by a specialist in Belfast... it blew a big end bearing and needed a full rebuild. It's costing me about 8k euro to put right. So, with another kiddie on the way I need something a bit more practical for a while. I'll put it for sale here when she's finished.... should be a couple of weeks. Someone is going to get a cracking motor with full rebuild at my cost! Ah well, thems the breaks in life.

The offsets would be 55 front and rear if they were genuine ones of that size. Those are the Mille Miglia replica offsets.
