Thank you all so far.
I am doing this my self, and I will probably spend a god deal of money on phone bills to qualified/professional engine builders and of course continue to ask (silly) questions here.
Do realise this is like throwing hard earned cash out the window and it is a possibility for serious money spent, but hey it’s a hobby and I got time!
The car is a rs club sport n/gt witch now has in addition to the original M64/03, an extra 1990 with 100.000 km engine and a extra re geared gearbox, I’m not fiddling with the original equipment, except It has Öhlin´s springs and dampers.
Colin is 9m prices a secret? I do know you have posted some on this forum, but searching takes so much time.

Thank you Mr. Meister
I’m really looking forward to do this project, it’s something I have wanted to do fore some time now. First of all I need the dimensions on the conrod small end to fit the 9M 103mm race piston.
ø22mm x ?

Here is a good example of the point I made regarding the performance of mix-and-match components.
This 3.8 993RSR race engine was previously assembled by a third party for my customer and we have simply fitted it into his car and mapped it for the Motec engine management. The engine is running 50mm TWM throttle bodies and a non-cat RSR header system (equal length, left/right seperate) and managed to make a respectable 378hp, beating the stock 993RSR engine which made 365hp. As a test for the customer, we substituted the exhaust for our prototype header set, then fitted the 9m tapered ITB intake system and dyno tested the car for both configurations. The four runs show RSR engine with carbon manifolds, 3.8 engine on TWM/headers, 3.8 with 9m exhaust and 3.8 with 9m exhaust and 9m intake. The peak gain with the 9m parts fitted is 50Nm at 4600rpm against the engine as-arrived - although we have subsequently found another 10Nm by playing around with the inlet trumpets. Peak power is now 390hp.
