Well technically colour does not exist it absorbs some wavelengths of light and reflects or transmits others from the spectrum. White light is composed of all visible wavelengths, which can be divided into three primary-colour bands, red, green and blue. A paint ie; Red that absorbs one wavelength band has the combined colour of the other two; it is the complement of the colour it subtracts from white light.
A good example of this theory is looking at your car under street lights(sodium) it doesn’t actually look red at all, that’s because there is no white light.

(If so, that's some of the 'flattest' overhead lighting I've seen.)

I like those Targa's darkened foreground shapes... half-hidden by darkness. Alluded to. Like one of Remington's night series. Very cool.
