Default Cluncking!

Hi guys,
The other day whilst reversing out of the garage,I noticed a cluncking noise and it felt as if the front tires were "skipping",also whilst driving at reasonable speed 90+kph the car feels slightly unstable, not scary, just like driving on a gusty day.I was wondering if this could be a bush issue,or perhaps an allinment problem, though there is no uneven tire wear. The car brakes in a straight line. Its a 91 C2 tip,any of you experienced anything similar.
Thanks in advance.

Hmm. I've had a similar experience when reversing out of a parking space with the wheels turned left. Feels like they are skidding for a brief moment. My car also feels slightly unstable at speed, although I've never considered it a problem. It just feels a little "light". I've inspected the suspension, but didn't see anything wrong.

I get this at full lock as well, I spoke to a garage who said it's standard for one wheel to crab round above 3/4 lock.

When driving in a straight line this is odd behavior. It could be alignment, but I would suspect bushing or bearing. With your AC off go for a drive and then stop and see if either front hub feels hot. Your right one might be a little warm from the oil cooler, but the left one should not. Neither should burn your hand.

BTW, I have always been one to drive and then touch my wheels to feel for bearing heating. I about flipped out when I first got my C2 because the rear wheels were always hot. Then I discovered that the heater dumps hot air through the rear wheel wells when the heater is off. I felt dumb.

+1 on the skipping being normal when reversing with lock on.

My money would be on worn anti-roll bar bushes causing the clunking.

all good suggestions. I'd also suggest checking the strut bearings (between front struts and unibody). Known to cause a clunking sound usually when turning.
