Default Driving shoes?

I am considering getting a pair of driving shoes. Sparco do a range, which seems pretty good value. Has anyone any experience of them?

I'm not thinking they will turn me into Lewis Hamilton but they are bound to be better than running shoes for operating the pedals properly

Thanks
Steve

Don't have any experience with the Sparco range but for a comfortable shoe at a great price it's hard to beat the Puma SpeedCats. Great feedback through the soles and look good to boot. I wear the mid cut boots for flying (my other job!!) and the low cuts for driving the p-car.

If you are not racing, but just looking for a great DE shoe for a good value (less than $100), you can't beat the Piloti line.

I have had a set of mid-top G Force shoes for about five years now, and they've held up well and provide excellent feel of the pedals. Also, the durometer of the sole is hard enough to wear well but not so hard that they feel slippery, that slipperiness being one of the reasons I don't like the Simpsons.

I like my low-cut Piloti's.

Hi Steve,
I started out with Piloti DTMs for casual and track driving-good for both. BUT, I soon found the Piloti were too bulky and not sensitive enough for my track pedals. This is when I changed to a dedicated track shoe, made by Sparco-big difference. Kept wearing the Pilotis as a substitute for daily tennis shoes. ( Stand 21 makes the best track shoe with Porsche logo...)
I found the problem with Piloti, after 3 pairs, is that if you wear them a lot, eventually the bottom sole piece comes loose/off. This happened with each pair. Uppers. leather were fine just the bottom soles become unglued-you can glue them back temporarily.
Meanwhile, I did sucumb (sp) to the Addidas Driving Shoe 5600 by Porsche Design. Very stylish looking and unique. After a couple of months wearing them, they are FAR more comfortable than the Piloti and better build quality, and of course, decent for street driving. But, wherever I go, people are always staring at my feet!!!...LOL!

I also have mid-top G-Force shoes - they are excellent, and priced well.

I have a set of Piloti's, but as someone else mentioned they are a little on the bulky side. However, they do work well and are very comfortable for wearing all the time.

I also have a set of Puma SpeedCats, however they are so skinny that I have to adapt my driving style to accomodate for them. They also aren't very comfortable IMO for walking around.
