Default Bar code sticker - what is it?

Hi All,

Just to make this clear, the bar code sticker I am referring to is the one that is on the rear of the door frame pillar; 2/3" long, white sticky label with what appears to be a bar code. Mine is faded to nothing, so I was wondering what it stated originally? There is clearly a bar code, but I can't make out if there was any lettering underneath; chassis number? Random factory quality check label?

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Adam.

My RS has the chassis number on the barcode label, only just readable.

Thanks Ian. I was thinking of replacing mine at some point ( I know, a bit obsessive ), and had no idea what it originally looked like. Will now give me something to do when it is too damned wet/cold/windy/dark outside to do anything else
