Thumbs down best spark plug wire retailer?

Hey guys - today it finally rained in San Diego! As a result, my car ran terribly due to arcing of the plug wires. If I spray water on the distributor, I can see sparks leaving the boot/connector of the plug wire and jumping to a neighbor connector on the distributor. It even shocks me if I ground myself and come near the distributors. Sounds like if that's happening, I can't use that guy who makes wire sets for cheap by re-uses the plug connector ends, right? Has anyone ever had the jumping sparks at the dizzy caps and been able to just replace the wires without getting new plug ends?

It's interesting that the dealer sells these wires only as single wires, not an entire set... Anyone have tips on a decent source for a set?

Did you hav a chance to check out canadian auto parts sellers. A while ago, they were selling 964 wires at a very good price. I ended up ordering a few sets for the rainny days. Andy

And many who tried to buy them have been either placed on long backorder list or have their orders cancelled.

I'v tried a few times and they always seem to cancel my order about a week later saying they are out of stock, despite the web site saying otherwise.

Oh well, I've tried again and if I am successful, I'll try ordering more for other people.

Same here. This the fourth order I've placed. Their inventory update system doesn't seem to work. For the last couple of months they've had the wires priced >$500. I assumed they didn't have any and priced them ridiculously high to discourage orders.

Alternate supplier I used last time shows 3 in stock at $101!

Note that last time I ordered it showed 1 or 2 in stock and my order kept getting cancelled. After ordering about 4 times they finally shipped them.

Just out of curiosity went to the site and if you click on the US buyer link, the price goes to $600+.

Thought they were our friendly neighor to the north!
