Interesting link with discussion, and data, on the selection of engine oils for air cooled Porsches. I saw the link in a message on PCA forum.

Still haven't seen any actual wear data on the newer oils vs the older oils. Until I see some long term analysis, it all amounts to fear mongering.

I've been trying to follow the discussion on oil and the reduction in the amount of additives in the quest for lower emissions, but to be honest, I'm lost. I'd just like to know what oil is still recommended for our cars without the technical information, no matter how fascinating it might be. No offense intended to anyone - especially those carrying out the analysis work.
