Battery?
Didnt move the white flash for 2 weeks and the batt was dead
I know i need to use it more, but i had lost heart with it and its susy problems.
Anyway ive seen a solar powered batt charger (fle-bay £10) i was thinking this will sort any battery problems.
Will it work threw the cig lighter?
Is there any problems with this type of charger?
2 Alarms + tracker r a drain.
Thanks.

I find my battery goes flat in about that time too. I have tried a solar charger but at this time of year find there is just not enought light in the UK. Plus without rewiring the cig lighter you need to attach direct to the battery. I am thinking of buying a mains trickle charger just to maintain the battery, as I only get to use the car at the weekend.

Russ,
Try Maplin for a solar charger. I got one and hung through the garage door it works fine. Even has a choice of battery terminal or cigar lighter connectors!

I also suffer the same fate but I,m lucky if I get to drive the car once a month due to work commitments.
I tried the solar charger route but you'll be lucky to get 8v out of one with the uk weather.
I installed one of these http://www.type-911.co.uk/images/car...ion/psunit.jpg
Does disable the alarm though if the alarm power is not wired direct to the battery +ve terminal.

Do your interior lights turn on when you open your door and turn off when you close your door?
My car can sit for weeks without issue.
But there was a battery leak before, which was caused by faulty door sensors. So that's why I'm asking.

The lights go on and off inside just fine.
The only drain is the security system, i think!
So the solar charger wont work threw the cig lighter, without a re-wire.
And i cant leave wires across the drive, or the bonnet part open. So the only option is to drive the car more often.

Works fine on mine - put it on the dash inside (when parked outside) or hang it outside the garage under the eaves (when its tucked away).

I have a Schumacher 1.5 amp charger that I got from Performance $38.95.
Direct connects to battery terminals. Has a status light that tells you when the battery is charged, or needs charging. Didn't mount it permanently, just sits on the rug in my trunk, with the lid not latched all the way.I plug and unplug as necessary. If you have an analog clock, it will use some power, along with the flashing door buttons.

I raised a question once before about cigarette lighter being powered all the time, and it seemed fairly random whether they were or not. It didn't even seem regional.
Mine wasn't, and I had it rewired so that I could use a solar charger. Which is a pain - because now it's on a 10A fuse circuit, which blows if I use the tyre compressor.......
Anyway - I no longer use the solar charger I bought, I now keep the car in the garage and use a trickle charger. I think the solar charger is still in the garage - check whether your lighter is powered when the ignition is off. If it is, you can have my solar charger for free (assuming it is where I think it is).

I didn't think my cig lighter was live all the time but then found that it was just the lighter that was b*ggered and the socket is OK. Having read this, I think I'll get one of these solar chargers and give it go. It's got to be worth a try at a little more than a tenner.
