Default Windscreen Washer - Weak Ejaculate Woes

For a while I have only been getting a dribble out of the left hand windscreen washer nozzles, and nothing from those on the right. I realised what the problem was only yesterday: I hadn't ever filled the washer bottle up since getting the car, over a year ago! I had obviously run out of water, so to speak, or so I thought.

So I added the best part of a gallon of clean water, through the filler tube next to the gas cap, expecting that to solve the problem.

But no: I am still only getting a weak trickle out of the left hand nozzles. I cleaned out all the nozzles carefully with a piece of wire, but still no change.

Any ideas what may be wrong? Thanks!

Oh yes: and does anyone know why the wipers run so very fast when the washer pump is operated?

Jets/Nozzles are clogged up or washer fluid motor has gone bad.

Can you disconnect from the nozzles and test?

Nice C2 looks very nice/familiar, and I am originally from southern CA.

A 16 yr old should not have weak ejaculate issues

OK, seriously, have you disconnected the lines to the nozzles and checked the "ejaculate" pressure on each side? May just be a weak pump or clogged line to the nozzle.

It was in San Diego before I bought it ...

I suppose I should take a look under the hood at the washer fluid lines and the pump.

If you can hear the pump running then its probably the T and L shaped valves that are clogged. There are 2 of each.

Check out the suction strainer before buying a new pump. I had some washer fluid start to gell, and that cloged the strainer (not on a 964, but your PO may have bought the same junk fluid).

Replace the check valves. 9 times out of 10 that will do it. Mine did the same thing, replaced all the check valves, and now it has no issues. Valves are pretty cheap too.

How easy a job is replacing the check valves - do you recall? Does it require removing lots of gear to get at them, or is it an hour on a Sunday afternoon?!

Sunday afternoon, requires the use of reverse double jointed german fingers, but requires almost no tools. Take the front cowl off (the one that covers the heater actuators at the top of the trunk) and start fishing. Mine were a pain to get to. Good luck.

Check to see if you're intensive wash (switch on the dash) works as that has a separate bottle (inside the trunk) and motor. For some reason I use that one more than the normal wash.

And yes the wipers go a crazy speed when you first flick the stalk but you can slow them by easing back on the pressure you put on the stalk.

Thanks DavisRiley and Boxsey ... I shall have a fiddle this weekend.

I don't have intensive washers on mine: that was an option, right?

Those wipers go so fast when the pump is engaged I fear they are going to fly off! Frenetic is the word to describe their motion

I presumed they were standard? Have you got the bottle in the trunk (small one by the fender with the red cap that pokes out of the carpet)? The switch is one of the many on the dash - you press and hold - mine is just to the side of the steering wheel. Getting hold of the 'intensive wash fluid' is a problem so I just use a strong mixture of the normal Porsche screen wash in mine.

Take the damn intensive washers out, I did that with mine, and have not looked back, no nead for return valves etc, and only takes an hour or two. most difficult bit is getting the piping around the inner wing and up through into the bulkhead.
