Regardless -
There is a fair amount of the information in the add that is erroneous - so on that merit alone there is some scamming going on.
We all know the car has significantly different mileage on it other than disclosed, it's from the US - not disclosed.
He never answered my 'EBay' email questioning several of the other mis-representations.

I think the winner has to contact the seller first. I would do that by asking for a copy of the title, import papers, registration, where he's located etc. There is no way the car is his so you don't have to worry, just play a little bit with him.

UPDATE:
I wrote to the seller saying how lucky I was to get it so cheap!!! And asked when I could pick the car up!
They replied by simply saying they would prefer paypal, funny that!!

or tell him straight that you're not amused by his antics of ripping off a car from the internet, which belongs to a good friend of yours, and that you require a thousand quid to stop you reporting him to the Fraud squad
