Lets hear the truth boys,
I am totally sold for a black, silver or red 964 Turbo. Then suddenly I ran in too this…..I like the colour, but smell Fab 5 . How hard is this one to sell in a couple off years? The interior is grey, so this is very far from going black / black on a Turbo. Give me your honest comments on this “dark red” colour……I once saw a picture from someone with a very shiny front hood with a oak tree reflecting in it….that colour look nice, was that the same…
Please help a confusing suede.

Not everyone choice Polman, but neither is silver, black or red. I'm afraid it doesn't do anything for me!. If i were you, i would be patient until the right car in the right colour turned up. As sure as eggs is eggs if you got that one, the one you really wanted would be just around the corner. Happy hunting

The colour doesn't do it any favours IMO. Half the fun is driving it and half the fun is looking at a 964 turbo and thinking how fun it would be to drive it. Colour is very important to the latter.

I would buy that car even with that color (I would paint it in the color I want). However, I would never mess with that interior, and to be honest that light grey color suck.

I personally like the subtle colours and would buy that colour in preference to a red or black. I LOVE the loud yellows, blood oranges and maritime blues etc but couldn't see myself driving one. The "dark red" shown above can look stunning if the paintwork is in good condition but for me the light grey interior would be a big turn-off...
As others have said, wait for exactly what you want and it will avoid the inevitable "how much to paint my car black and redo my interior" questions further down the road.
Good luck with your search

Who says its light gery? It may be classic grey which is good (careful, I have this) and especially with a few black contrast here and there looks even better.
btw, metallic dark red (arena?) can look awesome if shiny and clean. If its 30% AND it looks good I'd seriously consider it, but that's me. Polman, it sounds as though you already have your doubts, so don't...

Hi,
Looks like amethyst metallic. It is actually one of the RS colours for 964 RS, can look really good on a RS with 18" speedlines ... but on a turbo if You really want something else..is it worth it feeling not really pleased in spite of 30 % off....

That looks like Amethyst - there are quite a few 965 owners on here with that colour - see this thread:

It looks better in strong sunlight and with brighter wheels - like Speedlines. A few of these cars have a matching interior - I would have thought grey was a bit less intimidating and you can always tone it down by buying black mats.
Colour is not as important as condition, but ultimately it's your money...good luck!

I wont comment on the colour but I believe you must like the colour at an instant, otherwise wait. You must get a grin on your face when you go into the garage before you go to bed instead of thinking "it would have looked great in black".
I almost bought a yellow car with a kind of grey/blue interior. Everything about the car was perfect except the colour I really wanted a black one so I waited. And today when I see the same car on track days I'm so happy I did the right thing!

I have owned a black car, and will never have another. Too hot if parked in the Atlanta sun. Black looks great when freshly washed, but shows dirt much more that white. My $0.02 on the color is that I will turn off some, but be a plus for others.
Henry Ford said you can have a Model T in any color you want as long as you want black. I enjoy interesting colors. Price? Depends a lot more on the condition of the paint and the rest of the car.

I like it ! I agree with you Springer. White sure is alot easier to keep looking nice then black but darn when the black car is clean it is a real looker.
