Default Vacuum Canister

Hi all,

I am nearing the end of my rebuild and have now discovered (by coincindence in another Rennlist thread) that the PO removed the vacuum canister that sits behind the airbox (and capped off the line that should go to it). I guess my question is wether or not this is a big deal, and what is the purpose of the vac canister. The engine did run prior to my rebuild but I do not know how well it drove as it was a project purchase with a known engine problem (turned out to be a broken crank).

Thanks as always for any help.

I'm not sure what it does, but Jason knows where it goes! See post #2 in this link.

And Adrian knows what it's for! See post #2 in this thread.

Actually, post #6 (by Red rooster) of that same thread indicates that the reservoir operates the resonance valve, which is what I had recalled, but wasn't certain of.
