Quick question. Did the round mounting bracket come off the windshield or did you just want to replace the mirror? You can slide the base upward off the bracket if it's just a swap.
Just checking.

I JUST had to do this- $3.00 windshield mirror glue, and about 5 minutes to clean both surfaces and apply mirror.
I couldn't get the disk off, so I just cleaned and stuck it all back on as one unit.

The mirror fixes to the round metal mirror boss which is fixed to the glass.
The mirror slides down onto the boss to fit, but often snaps the mirror tab off when you remove it.
If the mirror boss has come off the glass then it needs bonding back on, at work we use a loctite 2pak glue.
Dont use super glue, it can cause the screen to crack.

I was AXing this weekend, came back to my car in the morning and found the mirror sitting in the front seat. I found this thread, bought the adhesive for $2.99, and all back in place. I also could not get the metal disk out without overly invasive prying, so just installed the whole package. Neat!
