Well, did my son's senior pictures last week; examples below. Cleaned the garage yesterday. I was really tired when I was done, but if felt good to get it done. Not much else; getting ready for our Fall tour club ride this Saturday. Will need a wash and wax before Saturday morning.
Had a great weekend. Saturday was rainy, so I decided to wax my DE car. Watched the old film "Its a mad mad mad mad world" while the wax was drying. I had forgotten how kooky and fun the film was. Sunday's weather was a perfect fall day. Clear and mid-70'2. My girlfriend and I took a long drive up in the western part of NH. The leaves are beginning to turn.

Changed the fuel filter and alternater/fan belts. I think the new belts are a bit tight even with all the shims put in, I think my car must be short a couple there are four on the alternater belt how many are there on everyone elses?
The other thing I could not work out was how to torque the pulley bolt with a torque wrench and socket while holding by the centre with the 12 point tool, any ideas?

The trick to torquing a nut while holding the center is to use a crows foot wrench on your torque wrench. I have two sets of crows feet, one standard and one that's a flare nut crows foot. Note: when you do it, be sure to keep the crows foot pointing 90 degrees to the ratchet. Otherwise, you are changing the length of the wrench.
Took the front bumper off the turbo to install some mesh (protect the radiators) - but although I know a lot of people have done that, I couldn't get the bumper back on with the mesh in place. After 2 hours I gave up - how expensive can radiators really be anyway......
Also gave the turbo a clean. I did clean the wheels on the 964, but didn't get any further - however, the 964 is the one that lives in the garage, so it doesn't need to be cleaned as often.
finally fitted the RS Brake duct kit to the car over the weekend although they are more for show than for cooling the brakes! Looks good!
With the upside came the downside, tried to remove the front wheels to fit 3mm spacers and found out my locking nut tool is damaged and slips off the nut. Only managed to get one off (luckily) but the others are jammed on. Tried hammering a socket which kept slipping off! GRRR! will look at getting a removal tool and trying again.
The one nut which did come off was the right rear where i need to get the wheel off to search for the PS fluid leak which is making a mess of the garage floor.
All of these issues have surfaced after a recent clutch change at an indy.....broken foglight (hence the RS ducts) whilst having the clutch change, PS leak didnt happen before the clutch change, stuck locking nuts...well you get the picture
Although i am not sure the wheels needed to come off for that......
Got the 964 out a couple of times to pickup the daughter. A nice little warm up for 4 hours each time. Sure glad that I had the radar detector as it seemed like it was going off every 5 minutes or so. It was a nice streatch of the 964 legs so to speak, and a good work out on my smile.
john, isn't it amazing how the Porsche can do that to you? There are days when I get in the car and crank it up and I grin from ear to ear the whole time!!!
I had a practice dinner party Thurs, my friend came over and I cooked.
Saturday I had to work. Then painted calipers Sat pm (pics tomorrow) and worked on the house Sunday. Overall productive, although no time for Pcar driving.
The 964 would crank, but not start, yesterday. Having been in the same situation 5 years ago, I replaced the DME relay with the spare -- problem solved. The new spare is on order.
