Fan blower resistor: good -- or bad.

I need help confirming that my blower/fan resistor is the latest design and not the old, factory-recalled design.
Background: I reread this post tonight, winced, checked my '93 C2's resistor... and it doesn't show an embossed p/n.![banghead](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/banghead.gif)
So, I don't know if it's the old, flame-inducing type (964 616 550 01), or the new, safe type (964 616 550 02).
And being slightly paranoid about becoming a traffic-slowing pyre, I don't completely trust that my C2's safe just because
it was made (in March 93)... after the recall.
But I DO see what looks to be the new design's referred to, "thermal switch" beneath the resistor coil.
Does that absotively identify it as the Good "02" design?
(Is that thermal switch absent on the "01" design?)
Thanks.

Aaargh! Where is this resistor located in my '90 C4? I need to check it has been replaced by the safe version. Do you have the details of the recall bulletin for further information?

At about $35 (?) it's not that expensive, so if in doubt, replace it....
Ian, read the thread that Lonnie refers to about the location of the resistor : https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...lower+resistor

AS a word of warning ensure that the resistor is cooled down before removal. That wire coil gets quite hot and when you pick it up it can leave a tattoo on your index finger. (Don't ask me how I know

It shows in Pelicanparts.com as an oil-related resistor, not the engine bay's HVAC ducting-related 'anti-pyro special'.
Anyone have a photo of the old, bad resistor for comparison?
And thanks for your puts, Dave, Peter & rodtds!
