The studs for the valve covers that sit in the camshaft housing, Porsche part no #999-062-127-02 (M6 x 25) do not have a torque spec. There is a height spec but I'm not sure what it is. If nobody else posts it, just get the height close to any of the other 33 studs and be careful not to over-tighten because they snap real easy.

As Steve wrote, the nuts should be torqued to 7 ft-lbs but there is no torque specification for the studs.

thanks jason for the right part number....

i found out the hard way i had the wrong part number...upon driving 45 mins to pick them up and after a casual inspection realized i had wrong part...UGH...i could see that 8x28 was too thick...doh...

jason, for whatever reason your post was not visible at time i asked the later question bout the nuts vs stud torque amt...maybe i didnt refresh the web page?? if i had refreshed i would have saved some time and aggravation...

jason thanks again for your help and correct info...

now just need to figure where to get one? i was hoping to button this up over the weekend

The studs have a metric thread (i.e. probably M6 x 25 as Jason mentions, 8-28 is a British thread) as all the bolts on the engine are metric. The studs are screwed in until the unthreaded section meets the surface or until they're at a height which allows the nut to catch all the theads when the cover is in place. It looks prettier if all the studs are at the same height. To lock the stud into the cam housing use some red or blue locktite.

Hope this helps
