New coils - big difference
I installed a pair of new coils and am very happy with the results.
My car was running rough when cold and was a little reluctant at mid rpms.
I tested the coils by unplugging them and trying to start the car on each one independently. It would not start on the primary alone, but did start on the secondary. It didn't run very well on the secondary alone.
I now have a very solid idle which no longer dips when coming to a stop.
It pulls great when cold and all the way through the rpm range. No more roughness and no more reluctance anywhere in the range.
It feels as though there is quite a bit more power, but, of course, these things are very subjective and prone to misjudgment.
I've been wanting to replace these old coils for quite some time and am pleased that I finally did.
I purchased the coils from Pelican and understand that these are not the same quality as OE Porsche versions. They were ~$50 each, as apposed to $77 for the OE from Sunset. Had I known, I would have spent the extra $27 each.
In all $100 (or $150) very well spent. It seems worth the 10 minute start-test to check your coils.

Glad do hear the car is running fine now!!
I changed mine last time I did the major tune up. Glad I did as they were showing deterioration (one was leaking and the other one had started to corrode...)
