Ok - firsthand viewing reveals camber plates. Check.
But that the driver's side front strut is all the way inboard while the passenger side is not and has additional scope for adjustment i.e. neg camber.

The car was corner balanced with 180 lbs.

The specs AFTER alignment and c/b are:

FL FR LR RR
Camber -0.3 -0.3 -2.4 -1.9
Caster 4.8 4.4
Toe -0.02 0.02 0.21 0.19
SAI 19.0 47.1

Question answered- kind of:

There are of course camber plates.
But they were reverse installed. Plates reversed. Problem NOT resolved.
Still the adjustments are max inboard with about -2.5 camber- which is better but I dont understand how to achieve more if I wanted it. The camber plates themselves have only four fixed mounting points so theres no latitude there- what am I missing??

New question:

Also the front damper adjusters are so long if the car is lowered too much up front they come into contact with the lower arm- anyone else have this issue?

Hey David,

I just wanted to clarify the question. The adjustment **** is located inside the base of the front strut. If the control arm was pressing against the adjustment ****, it would actually press up against the base of the strut. Is that what's going on?

Thanks guys for following up on this.

The front left strut has a dial like in Bill's pic but it extends out below the base by about a good 2" on a thin rod- which is why the comment about it hitting the lower arm.

I don't have this problem on the other side; no dial- no rod. I felt up inside the bottom of the strut and nothing there- unless its pretty far up- I could only just reach it with my fingers with the wheel on. It may have been sheared off by the arm.
Ill ask the installer if it was ever there- I assume it was.

Re-alignment (at same place) is now about -2.5 and about an inch lower in front so its looking pretty good but this is the new max which is still perplexing

BTW- the vendor (RL sponsor is no where in sight- not returning email or calls- nice).

Anyway later today I went by Kinetic Motorsports (awesome display of cars there: IMSA and GT3 Cup , 993 Cup cars etc http://www.kssmotorsports.com/index.aspx) and these guys are going to sort me out. Said they are happy to do it. Turns out the owner and his wife is Bermudiam just like me and mine.

Assuming you bought new JICs, it sounds like an installer malfunction to me.

Possibly Bill.

They were definitely new but the vendor or JIC sent the wrong year(pre '89) rear mounts and it took 3 weeks and plenty of calls to get that straight so anything is possible.

The installer is a RL highly recommended place in Atl but they have made mistakes so you could be right- hard to say at this point.

But right now the car is in pretty good shape and much closer to where it should be. I'm confident Kinetic will sort it out the rest of the way.
