Bridgestone SO2-N2/N3 can i mix them?
Hi all, I’m currently running Bridgestone S02 N2 tyres, the rears are down to 3mm, so I’m looking to replace these, trouble is I can’t find any S02- N2’s but N3’s are available (www.mytyres.co.uk) can I mix these tyres?
I’ve spoken to Bridgestone tech dept today, they say I should be ok, I’m not entirely comfortable with this, has anybody mixed them? If so what were the results?
Cheers
Andrew

I mixed even bigger differences without any issue (S02A and S03) while migrating from S03's to the S02As. There is no reason why you couldn't or shouldn't in this situation.

I’m a little reluctant to mix these given that when I mixed some Continental Sport Contact N2/N3’s the car was transformed into an unstable pig I just don’t want to make the same mistake again! Anyone else in the UK had the same dilemma?

In my youth I swapped ends in my father's 240Z Datsun. He had just put new radials on the front, while the rears were the original bias-ply tires. I got lucky and missed everything.
I learned that if/when you skid, you want the tail to stay behind you so you can see where you are going and have a chance to recover. As long as the newer or wider tires are on the rear, you should be fine.
