Say you were an anti-FIXED wing sort of person and you were considering buying a RSA. Could one buy a lid on the used market and have it resprayed to match and then with relative ease hook up the electronics to make the typical wing activate- or would this be ridiculous from a mechanical/electrical point of view?
That's one of the things that makes an RSA special.
Anyway, I don't know that exact answer, but have seen older 911's with those decklids work, so guess it's possible.
The motor is attached to the wing, but you will need the console switch, control unit, and the wiring harness from a normal 964. I doubt they are all in an RSA, if any of them.
You could, but why???? Why do you want an RSA if you don't really want an RSA? Buy a C2.
If you do go through with it for some reason, absolutely be sure to keep the oem RSA deck lid and wing in a safe place and don't sell them. If/when you ever wanted to sell the RSA, you would take a hell of a beating on the price with a popup conversion on it. OEM RSA tails are very hard to find.
Seems like to much of a hassle and since a C2 and a RSA are so similar.....
But it terms of low mileage prisitne 964's, the only thing out there are the RSA's.....most of the C2's seem to have been driven pretty hard and have racked up lots of miles.
