Default Recommended 964 PPI in San Antonio

I would first like to say hello and thank you in advance for any guidance that you can provide. I am roughly a week away from becoming another proud 964 owner and spending endless hours gawking at those beautiful curves, listening to the music of the a/c 3.6, and looking at the disbelief on the faces of my friends when I tell them the small sum of money I paid for a car of this caliber. I promise I'll get some pictures up asap.

A couple quick questions here:
Can anyone recommend a good 964 PPI in San Antonio?

Is there a particular digit in the VIN that differentiates the C2 from the C4? Carfax will identify '89's as AWD, but '90's and on are all listed as RWD. I've searched my references with no luck. I know that it is probably obvious and it is a stupid question but I'm still asking.

I've been reading about 911s for years now. I have: Original 911, 101 Projects (hopefully most of this information transfers to the 964), Red Book, 911 Performance Handbook, and I have Porsche 911 Enthusiast's Companion Carrera 2, Carrera 4 on order. Does anyone have other recommendations that that focus on the 964?

Thanks again,
Steve

I don't know of any in San Antonio, but Scott's Autohaus in Austin is good. He's a PCA supporter.

Thanks for your help trackjunky. I ended up having it checked out by Bob Jones at Autowerks in San Antonio. He was very helpful. I decided to pass on the car. '90C2 65,000 Asking $18,000. Needed about $6,000 to make it solid. Low compression (avg. 83%), cyl. base oil leak, chain housing oil leak, oil line leak, clutch linkage broken, bent wheel, mis-matched tires, defroster flap inop. To make a long story short, I'm still looking.
