Default GT3 brakes on 964 RS/Turbo

Anyone who has experience in fitting front GT3 (MK1 I think) brakes on a 964 RS or Turbo?

I know it's possible to fit them on a 964 C2/C4 using adapters, but I don't know how or if it's possible to fit them on my 964 3.3 turbo (to my understanding same fittings as for the 964 RS and 3.6 turbo).
Thanks

The 964RS uses the 3.3 Turbo upright. The 3.6 Turbo upright is different, so the adapter kits are different as well as the factory rotors which are different between the two cars. The MK I GT3 brakes are 996TT brakes so there should be someone making kits to adapt 996TT monoblock calipers to 964 3.3 Turbo uprights.

How much brake do you need? I have a set of the GT3 6piston monoblocks and was thinking of putting them on my car...I currently have 965 Ruf Big Reds and they seem to be plenty of brake. Also, the stock oe iron rotor for the GT3 brakes weights a bloody ton! But I think you actually have to use a Brembo rotor...slotted no holes, and I understand that is lighter.

Geoffrey you know anything about this?

Personally, I think the stock brakes are sufficient, just ask Colin (38D) who raced a stock turbo, especially if you add cooling ducts. The drawback with the Porsche rotors is that they are drilled, or in reality have cast in holes. I prefer the slotted rotors from Brembo and AP because the do last longer and the aluminum hats weigh less than the one piece rotors.

I got these breaks at a very good price including slightly worn discs and yellow Pagids, think I will be able to sell my 3.3 turbo calipers, discs and pads for about the same price I am paying for the new breaks. Will be able to buy new GT3 discs for $160 usd each (which is 40% less than I pay for 3.3 turbo discs today) and break pads for these breaks are cheaper too. So if I get this together I will start saving money. Also, if I want to run with floating discs I will have a larger number of alternatives to choose from.

Talked to a Porsche mechanic (who has been racing 964:s), he says it will by very hard to fit these on my car, the only route he can think of is to replace the fittings (well the part the fittings are attached to, don't know the english word) with C2 parts and use a adapter to fit those. He wasn't sure but think that the break surface is about the same for the 3.6 turbo breaks and the GT3 Mk1:s.

Just ordered 3.6 turbo calipers (using 3.6 turbo discs today), I will stop running "taxi" laps with passengers (thats when I get warping and cracking problems) and continue my weight saving project. If that doesn't work I will look for other types of discs (I have ducts and hoses to the center of the discs).

I also think that the break pads I am currently running is giving me more trouble than the yellow Pagids I have been running previous years, so I will switch back to them.
