Wow, that is light. Most of the GTC1 cups are in mid 2500s, and that is sans interior.

That seems about right. I have an RS and with a half roll cage, carpet (only weighs about 7kgs) but no front floor foam and lightweight battery, I am at about the same weight.

my car does not have front foam mats (rennline Aluminum floor boards instead) but does have "full" carpet and a heavy dry cell battery (optima Red top).
Also i am using the stock Cup 1 style wheels (9.5 & 8") with 235/275mm tires which are very heavy. These are my next targets for repalcement. I am planning on using the C14 wheels from CCW in 18" with RA-1 tires.
i could cut a good bit by using an smaller battery (and will in the future).

That is very good for your car! You have it on quite a diet.

Mine was weighed at Automobile Associates by the PO and was at 2566 with no jacks, tools, etc. It was weighed last October at Precision with jack, tools, extra brake pads, full tank of gas, jacket, etc.(didn't know it was going to be weighed) and it came to 2640. Both are with 8 and 9.5 x 17 Cups and MPSCs. 38D has seen the car in its current form.

Mine was 28xx# at Mid Ohio last weekend with me in the car. That puts it at 26xx # with probably 1/2 tank. I can account for about 30-40 of those # pretty easily (cool suit cooler, etc), but it still tips the scales north of 2600#, granted with probably 1/2 tank. So, that puts us in a similar ball park.

Short story is I am no where close to Porsche's claimed 2425#. Granted there is a fair amount of bondo on the car, but not THAT much.

Charlie, none of the Cup cars are at 2425, I'm not sure where they got that number unless that was a completely dry car.

no track time in this cars future any time soon.
i need something a little less dear for PIR

i think it will be possible to get into the high 2400's but it will take some doing that is for sure. Not sure i have the $ to go for the low 2400's right now.

time will tell - for now it is a fun exercise

To get to high 2400s you probably have to mod the car which, imo you don't want to do to one of these rare cars.

nothing permanent, just bolt on items.
for instance my car still has it's bumper bars front and rear which can be modified + Light weight wheels + light weigh brake rotors should have it in the high 2400's

Wow that must feel light. My 74 rs clone weighed in at 2390 pounds with full interior and insulation and it felt so light compared to my C2. My C2 weighs in at 2950 pounds with das sport bar and 3/4 tank of gas. So are we talking full interior, a/c, sunroof and extras weigh 400+ pounds? Or are there other extras that help?

in a nutshell, yes. however in addition to the 92 cup cars only having light weight carpeting with minimal sound deadening (mine has none), no rubber mats, no A/C, RS door panels, no radio, sunroof, etc. they also do not have undercoating, & an aluminum front hood. I am running the Recaro SPG porsche racing seats which were standard issue for a cup car as well. i believe most of the "normal" 964 C2's are in the 31-3200 range

Actually most I have seen weigh in at 3000 or just under. I am running Gt3 seats light weight flywheel and RMB. My 94 turbo weighs in at 3120 and I can feel the extra weight over the C2 . So I doubt they are up at 3200. Aluminum hood and other stuff helps, so it sounds like I should be able to get down to 2750 without going too crazy.

I definitely prefer lighter weight over extra Hp. These cup cars have become very popular lately and I can see why.
