Default How to lock the car without activating alarm?

Can I lock my 964 without activating the alarm?
My car will be on a german car-train so I just need to lock it without alarm.
Can I use the central locking button and close the passenger door afterwards??

Thanks for input

Can't you just manually lock the door with the key??

I could on my SC which had an alarm/immobiliser activated by the central locking blipper. The car was then locked but the alarm wasn't set.

My original alarm is activated by locking the doors with the key.
No remote.

Is there a fuse that is specific to the alarm system? If so, you could just pull the fuse.

My 964 engages the alarm when you lock the door with the key. I would be very wary of screwing with the system as doing so may engage the drive-block and immobilize the car.

You can lock the doors manually but you need to do it from the passenger side. Reach across to the drivers side and lock the door then twist the lock on the passenger side before closing the door. If you do this from the drivers side the lock pops up again but not on the passenger side. At least it didn't on my last 964.

Thanks Jim!
I think this is THE solution. Same on other cars. I will check.

On mine I can disconnect the "blue plug" from the alarm box and still lock the doors with the key. The red lights flash on the door buttons (as if the alarm were on!) but the alarm obviously isn't activated. As a side benefit, with the alarm box disconnected the car won't start either. So even though the alarm isn't on the car is "immobilized" so to speak.

Don't know if this will work on yours as mine is an 89 with the 928 alarm system. I think they changed the alarm around 91?
