Very interesting. Where does one find cf mounts to replace the metal ones? And, are there any safety concerns with the cf mounts (such as the seat tearing off in a collision etc)?

The cf mounts are made by an UK firm called ReVerie. However, I don't think they are FIA approved

Found ReVerie's website:

Frankly, for items as safety-critical as seat-mountings, I think I better stay with the Recaro mounts and dwell on the treadmill a little longer.... However, if titanium mounts and rails were available - such as R Linton's - that'd be altogether diffferent.

Tend to agree. I set a budget when it comes to weight saving of about $200 per kg. Anything more expensive I don't consider worthwhile and the risk/reward/cost ratios don't seem to stack up for these.
