Default fuel filler neck

i have the well known fuel smell when making right hand corners. however, i can't really tell what's leaking. i have a new o-ring on the cap and everything looks normal inside. how's the gas getting out?

Did you replace the fuel filler neck ?

Did you clean the carpets in the front trunk? I still had a fuel smell until I did this.

I replaced my fuel filler neck and I still get the gas smell. Isn't there a canister or something that could also need replacing?

Sounds silly, but I just replaced my gas cap seal and it seems to have stopped all my fuel smell. Thought it was the best 2 dollar repair I have ever done.

As discussed in earlier threads, over time, the constant weight of the gas nozzle (and the person leaning on the nozzle) will deform the top of the filler neck from round to oblong. then the gas cap, with a new rubber gasket or not, will not seal.

When you go around the corner, the gas flows up the neck and out the bottom area of the neck / cap.

The fix is to replace the neck with the new neck with the revised design.
