Default 3.6 Cylinder Question

Hello,

I got my replacement cylinder from EBS today.

They said it came off a 92 C-2.

I notice that on my damaged old piston it has the Mahle stamped on the side.

I was just comparing the two cylinders side by side and the new cylinder from EBS does not have the Mahle stamped on the side of the cylinder.

Did porsche make multiple kinds of 3.6 cylinders in 1992?

Are these two cylinders made of different material?

Thanks.......

The set of 2.7 I sold last month had Mahle stamped on them. I would really wonder why this one doesnt.

I've ordered 1000s of parts , they are not all made the the same mold . If you have one with a molded in name and one that does not , it might just be that one mold had a name in it and another did not .

IE who ever made the mold that was used for casting the cylinder with no name , might have gone to lunch and forgot to do the name etc etc etc .
I bet they gang mold them buggers ....
Get a casting going and pore hot metal in to make 20 at a time .
