Hi have been reading and search the wealth of information here. truly great stuff! after driving a 73 911 with 3.0 engine and some lightweight adjustments I got tired of the noise, poor breaks, luring rust danger and bad road behavior above 200 km/h, and bought a 89 c4, midnight blue.

really love the car, the looks and performance are awesome, allthough it is not the same kick in the back I got from the 'classic' . I put a cup rohr on it, eibach springs in the front and for now that's it. I am absolutely non tech especially in english!

I have some questions
- I am looking for replacement for the cassete holder. I can't find it on the net
- what kind of shock should I go for for the rear wheels? just sporty is fine
- what is silverknit? I am looking for a nice pluche carpet. the original one is stil there and is not 'soft' enough for my taste
- is there a aluminimum shift **** available?
- the seats are really heavy, what kind of reacaro's give comfort but save weight? sportster?
- what is your opinion on a different steering wheel?

thanks so far and sorry for the amount of questions....

cheers

welcome! You have to post pictures before we give you the answers
Just kidding. If you do a search on here you will get most the answers you seek. I am sure others will chip in some additional suggestions.

Welcome to the forum!

I've got Recaro Pole Position seats in mine, that the previous owner put in, so I don't know how much weight was saves (someone else may have weighed them before) but the look light and are very comfortable as well as supportive.

I've also got an alloy gear **** , so they are available, but I don't know where from, sorry.

The cassette holder can be replaced by this...

And I'm pretty sure Pelican parts sells them for around $25. Make sure you order the rubber mat for the inside....I think it's another $8 or so. I can get you the part numbers if you wish.

I got mine on eBay...they pop up there every so often. I got into a bit of a bidding war, and ended up paying about $18. more than what I could have bought it on Pelican....but at the time, I didn't realize that they sold them!

There's also another option, especially if you're over in Europe...

Hi guys

sorry to butt in, but I am also on the lookout for console tray. Have looked on Pelican parets, but no luck. I have found one on eBay, but is a little expensive, UK 25 pounds (how do you type in the "pounds" symbol?), plus postage to Australia, works out about US$65 or more than AUD$85.

Try #964-552-159-00-1DB for the tray (MSRP $22.08USD) and the old number for the insert, #964-552-121-00-01C (MSRP $2.40USD). The old number for the insert has been superceded to what Skruggs posted but the old number is still in the system for a few dollars less so its worth trying to order with that number. I know of someone that recently saved a few hundred dollars by using the old and superceded part number for their order.

Thanks Jason

I did stumble across that, but was a little unsure because there is no pic and it's called a "cup" (I though maybe some kind of cup-holder) but makes sense now! I will order now! Cheers
