Smokin,
Thanks for the write up. I followed your advice and I believe that my ignition key is now brighter than my old H4 headlights were.
Cheers

I'm buying a new Porsche Crest Key Head from pelican - 944-538-041-00-M100, as the crest is missing from mine, and i've never had the light working.

http://www.pelicanparts.com/cgi-bin/...=C-538-041-99N

Does anyone know if this part comes with a bulb, or do i need to buy that separately? It doesn't say, which usually means it doesnt...

I'll try my luck.

Worse comes to worse, I get the key head, and have to wait another week before I have the light operational. Considering I've been light-less for 2 years already, i think i can handle it.

Hi here !

Does anyone know what is the exact bulb E5.5 needed ?
I bought a 12V but obviously it is not working with the 1,5 V battery...

Can I update with LED working under 3V ?

Thanks!

The current replacement key head has an LED. Could always swap internals from the new to the old if one wanted to keep the silver crest style key.

Yes thanks, I found the tech spec, it is E5.5 1,5v bulb Quite expensive for what it is, in addition to even more expensive transporatation cost, what head to 12 / 15 Euros for the bulb

About $6 from your local Porsche centre

I looked everywhere a few years ago for them and found nothing except the 12v ones like you found!

Yes exactly same here.
I'm still not already used to think that PC could be cheap solution but thank you for that, in that case it is probably the good one !
