Spring rate question
The following was posted by Chancecasey in my previous post regarding Bilstein HD and my Gemballa spring:
89-91 Stock 158/189
92-94 Stock 169/189
91-94 Option M030 169/263 (progressive rear, working rate)
93-94 RS America 169/263 (progressive rear, working rate)
91-92 Turbo 3.3 169/263 (progressive rear, working rate)
1992 Carrera RS (European) 247/440 (progressive front and rear, working rate)
1992 Carrera Cup USA 247/440 (progressive front and rear, working rate)
Progressive Fronts and Rears, static and working rates
H&R Green F-190/255 R-220/265
H&R Red F-250/275 R-270/295
I read the paper came with the Gemballa spring (all in German, so it's very difficult for me... ), and found there are 2 numbers listed as "overall coil coefficient" (Gesamtwindungszahl) : front 10.2, rear 11.75. Anyone know how to convert these numbers to the spring rates we usually used here (as listed above)?
I really feel sorry now that I didn't pay too much attention on physics in school....
Thanks!

There are some other numbers: (Front / Rear)
AuBendurchmesser: 116mm / 104mm (outer diameter)
Drahtdurchmesser: 12.5mm / 11.0mm (wire diameter)
Gesamtwindungszahl: 10.2 / 11.75 (overall coil coefficient)
ungespannte Lange (lo): 325+5mm / 390mm (uncompress length)
Frei sichtbare Gewindelange unter dem Federteller: ca.16~17mm / ca. 16mm
(something regarding spring seat, no idea)
Federweganschlage (Serien-Elastopuffer, ungekurzt (auf Dampferkolbenstange)): ca.80mm lang / ca. 125mm lang (no idea)
Sorry for my poor German and physics....are these enough to calculate the spring rate?
Thanks!
