Default Sorry, ISV again

Hi all,

I've searched past posts and found something about being able to move the internals of the ISV with a screwdriver.

I took mine off last week and it looked fairly clean, but the internals will not budge.
Is this normal? and when I've finally got round to cleaning it should the internal movement move easily?

Thanks

Rob

The internals should move. If you shake the ISV you should hear a clicking sound caused by the internals moving.

Yep, can't hear that.

Maybe cleaning will free up a bit.

You are trying to move it the correct way? If I remember correctly - you can't lever it up from where the hole is, it actually moves the other way (if that makes sense).

It does - when I cleaned mine it moved the opposite direction to what I was expecting by looking at it.

Just hook up 12 volts to it and watch it flutter. If it doesn't, spray with carb cleaner or I use WD40...learned that from the 928 guys

Thanks guys

I was trying to move it the round way (I know what you meant Dave!)

Hooked up to a battery and it did flutter, just not all the way, the bit that moves had a lip on it so stopped when it hit the casing.
All sorted and sparkling now!

Rob
