This is most likely not the type of answer you are looking for but.....

I grew up around where they are located (New Rochelle...just outside NYC), so I know where they are and that they have been around for a long time (at leat 12 years)

I had herd that they were the type of place you had to take an appointment to see a car.

Good luck and which car are you looking at??

A lot longer than that....bought a few things from them starting in the 80's and had good experiences. Never bought a car though but always have responded to my inquiries on cars?

Looking at the 89 C4, looks like it has the infamous cyliner weepage issue, engine is going to have to come out and be re-sealed. I want to make sure all the peripherals work and that there is no rust or previous collisions.

My brother inquired about a 1970 911 T they had there several years back. They seemed pretty upfront and got back to him in a timely manner via telephone and email. He did not buy the car, but didn't have any troubles with them either.

I think they are OK, but not my first choice. I prefer to wait and buy directly from an enthusiast
who had pride for their car, not a dealership sells consigned cars.

I remember when they were in Yonkers mid 80's IIRC. I have purchased parts from them on occasion. Kind of like pulling teeth. Not bad or dishonest just difficult. Some of the cars he has are on consignment and you need to make appointments to see them. The last car I looked at I had called and said I would be out and when I arrived I had to wait an hour until they decided to spend the time with me. In the end they were asking way too much for the car and would not accept my offer which was more than fair.

I visited their showroom in New Rochelle last winter. I found the asking prices on their cars to be high. When I inquired about one of the older Carreras, and whether the car leaked oil, the response I got was that they all leak. Not a very reassuring response.

Thanks for all the replies guys, car is going to Rennwerke for it's PPI. Will see what happens, worse case scenario is I loose a couple hundred on the PPI.
