I recall when building engines of lesser precision (American iron from 40+ years ago) that when I had the engine balanced, I took the crank, harmonic balancer, flywheel,and pressure plate to the balancer. He would balance them as a unit, making adjustments in weight at various points. These engines were not balanced (much) from the factory, so balancing the rotating masses, checking rod and piston weights, etc. really made a difference in a smooth engine build. Now, I've stepped up to real engineering and construction.

Weigh yourself. Stand the correct horizontal distance from the bolt on your cheater bar.

I like this very very much . Never goes out of calibration , can't over torque .

Did I see a pair of torque setting shoes in WalMart the other day ? Maybe they were ice skates !!!

Maybe up north thats the way you do it , but down south in yahoo land we use torque setting Stirrups ?
