White is timeless and always in vogue. What color did Porsche choose to launch the new GT3 in????
If you look at the original FIA colors assigned to each country for Grand Prix racing, and any other FIA sanctioned racing, the color for Germany is WHITE...ergo the name Grand Prix White, and why a proper German racing car is white......and there you have British Racing Green....and Ferraris aren't famous for being Red because Enzo said so...and French cars Blue, etc. Ever wonder where the "Racing Stripes" came from on US cars, and other late comers to the International racing scene?

So anyway, Porsche made all white cars with the strongest engines....because they thought they would be raced eventually!

I've got Grand Prix White. And to be honest, it feels quite fast. From a non-practical standpoint, for a long time after a good waxing, it's so easy to see, and eliminate, any dirt, mud splatter, brake dust, and grime. So easy to wash, as you see perfectly where you've been, and where you need to go. Very Zen.

When I drive around in the just-cleaned 964, you can't wipe the grin off my face. The GP White only makes that easier.

Even on jackstands...GP White cars look faster then all other colors...

...I really need to update that avatar. Time for a good winter pick with the car deep in the snow.

Thanks for the "racing colours" info and Wikipedia link. I thought I had a general knowledge about most things, but obviosly not!
