What's the rarest car you've seen on the road?

I think a mint condition Pacer would be kick a$$. That, and a Pinto. Throw in toasted almond or olive green matching oven, stove top, vent hood, and fridge - I'm there.

About a year and a half ago, I was driving to work and noticed a '70's AMC Pacer driving along. I was lucky enough to stop along side it at a traffic light and really looked at it. The weird part was it was absolutely MINT with the wood paneling on the side and white wall tires. Bumpers and chrome trim we all intact and in very nice shape. No dents, no rust, etc. It was so weird to see such a POS still running and in near showroom condition. A '70's time capsule. I've never seen it again since.

I have a couple of good spots. quite rare but not as rare as some others has posted. lets see
Just remembered Pagani Zonda F last year. nearly made a mess in my pants. I think the bloke thought I was going to mug him but I just stood there like a fool dribbling
others include
XJ220
F40 and F50 owned by same guy
Lancia Hyena(awsome quite rare)
Aston Martin lagonda ( my god it was awful)
My mate owns a Clan crusader does that count? only a few of those arround. this isnt his just to give you an idea
Cusse pee, I once saw 2 alfa sz'z in a drive in Austria. awsome. I nearly bought one a few years ago but was put off by bad talk of reliabilty and expensive bills

I've got you all beat with this Roadrunner and a couple others I saw on the road. I think some people are getting confused with actually seeing the car on the same road you are driving on and just seen the car at a show or something. Was at the Moneterey Historic races at Laguna Seca last year and there was a crazy amount of rare cars.

I guess you have to put a time frame on it also.
I had a friend that had a road runner almost Identical to the one in the picture. I drove it twice and it was the silliest thing I had ever driven. Absolutely no traction and too much torque. No matter how hard you tried you couldn't keep the back wheels from spinning and it didn't go too fast because of lack of traction.
What is the second car? My neighbor down the street has this identical car in the identical color. Didn't know what it was and never gave it much mind. We also have 2 Delorean's on the block why I couldn't tell you they were awful cars..

I was at a local restoratoin shop several years ago. They specialized in full restoration of Mopar cars. They had two Superbirds that they recently had finished. One was identical to the lime green car in this thread. The owner of the shop told us (a PCA group for a tech session) he wanted $350,000 for one of them and $325,000 for the other. They were almost over restored. I doubt they left the factory that way.
It seems you need lots of money for a rare muscle car...

I used to know this guy when I was in college who was a WW2 Marine Ace (in Corsairs). He still flew gliders, and, desperate to build time, I would (very slowly) tow him up in this beat-to-hell straight tail Cessna 150. He had '66 Barracuda, and he drove it one of two ways - gas on the floor, or brake on the floor. There was no in between. The speed on the airport road was 30, and it was not uncommon for him to hit 90!
