Lucky they haven't been stolen! My client at the time brought his 2-year-old 996 over from the US, and it was stolen out of a locked garage a week later. So I went out to some pubs with him to commiserate the loss, and when I came home, my apartment had been ransacked! Needless to say, I decided against bringing my car over (a decision I regret now).

That is in fact the same 250 GT PF; I recognize the driver's door as being a bit bent out on the back edge. That car always exuded such great smells of leather and oil, just sitting in the garage.

This was a long time ago (circa 1990) and when I lived in Los Angeles but I had a Vector W8 pass me as I was commuting home one day. I later learned that my commute was near the factory and the car must have been on a shake down drive.

Rarest car I've seen on the road(actually driving on the road) would have to be my customers Fiat Abarth 750 Allemmano that we fully restored. From what I've been told there's only 2-3 of these in the states and just a handful remaining elsewhere.

Even above some Porsche in the shop, this has to be one of my top 5 drives of all time. It's like sitting in a roller skate and your perception of speed is so overwhelmed by the size of the car that it makes the ride so much fun. Even if it has only 58hp!

Thanks! It was a very difficult restoration as there is virtually no information or visual aids on this car. It has only a mere ~5500 original miles on it as it was used ONLY as a race car back in it's hayday and took quite a beating(thus the needed restoration). It was never registered until just recently! The car is still owned by the original family that purchased it back in '58, and (sadly) when the father/husband passed away, the family closed on a small trust they had actually set aside for the car itself and had us bring the car back to its original condition in memory of him It is by far my most loved restoration and is just as you guess, a blast to drive.

Here is one last picture of a happy owner(Sally) taking delivery of the car from us(my business partner sitting passenger).

And that link above....new news to me. What a collection. I'd love to get my hands on that Abarth Scorpion and a few of those Alfa's. the 356 wouldn't be bad either

I work with a guy that drives a Peugeot 505 every day to work. Now thats rare!

He spends his weekend keeping it running.

But the rarest was the FXX that I saw run a Pocono last October.

I saw a 1957 M-B 300SL convertible and a gull wing coupe this past December in Venice, Fl. The convertible was on the road and the sound was fabulous!!!
