Greg, just went out and weighed my removed primary with brackets on the bathroom scale and get 22 lbs. No idea what the fabspeed weighs.

There are a few rennlist members that have modified their rear bumpers to go to dual exhaust. If you don't care about heat exchangers fabspeed has a nice set up. However, don't know if it will fit the stock exhaust header set up without further piping work. Since you seem to be hell bent on spending a lot of money on mod, you might as well go with SS exhaust headers that will fit the fabspeed dual exhaust. They have the complete set up with headers for less than $3000. Don't think cutting an opening on the driver side of the bumper is rocket science as long as you go with a dual primary muffler.

I have considered a dual exhaust but the idea of cutting a hole to match the right side worries me. I read it is easy to do if you have the right tools (I don't) so I have to trust a body shop or a muffler shop to do it for me. Getting it to look like factory is what I want and hate to see it cut too far right or left... I can't find the link someone posted last year where you can buy the left quarter bumper with the hole. I think it was OEM.

I have been thinking about this as well and have found two manufacturers that offer a dual exhaust rear bumper setup (rather than breaking out the Sawlsallsawzall )

Isn't the Fabspeed dual muffler still a single inlet? If it is a single inlet only, even with two outlets, does it really offer any better flow than their single outlet muffler, or is the point that two outlets look cool? (I'm not referring to the complete dual system with headers.)

last time i dyno'd a fab speed on my car - it generated whopping 3hp more than the stock system w/ cat delete, primary bypass, secondary (same day, etc) . the second pipe is grafted on so it has the looks but is not really optimized for dual flow.
i would go with the Cat & Primary bypass ( i need another Cat bypass currently if anyone has one)

In a recent post, 9m offered something very similar. Looks very nice, especially with the RS middle section. Perhaps you could ask them? Personally, I plan to convert my car to exactly the same setup soon.

I think I remember Colin Belton mentioning that the exhaust they used was from Cargraphic - specifically by customer request. Looking at the Cargraphic web site (www.cargraphic.co.uk) it looks VERY much like the Fabspeed in design.

The ESS version linked to above is quite different in that it uses a Cup Pipe an retains the original secondary silencer (muffler) and a dual outlet pipe attached to the outlet of the secondary.

I suspect the sound is quite different between the different designs.

Regards

Dave
