"I REALLY WISH I DIDNT HAVE TO SELL BUT UNFORTUNATELY WITH THE MONEY THATS OWED AND NO LIFE INSURANCE POLICY ITS IMPOSSIBLE TO KEEP IT."

Sounds like he needs either money or a life insurance policy - quick!

A buddy of mine here in north Texas (also a rennlister) owns a stunning C2 widebody that had been professionally converted by a previous owner from narrow body at significant expense using all factory body panels and parts. Its a beautiful car and is now supercharged to boot! (maybe he'll chime in with a photo!) But I don't think there was ever one that rolled out of the factory that way. Not that I'm an expert....

I just noticed that the ebay auction at the top of this post lists the title as "salvage". Interesting. That may explain how it became a widebody...

IIRC the only 964 factory wide body non-turbo cars for the US market were 94 C4's. They were a limited run specifically designed for the good ol' US of A. Porsche did this so we don't get upset that we didn't get any 993 cars that year because the 993 was on sale in the rest of the world.

sounds like his fathers estate owes some bills and there was no life insurance money to pay them. Nothing unusual there.
I sure like the look of those wheels!

Ya never know. There's always a story behind the story.

He's an optimistic lad - about the price...

Did he have trouble deciding which wheels he liked best and decided to run different ones on each side of the car?

I 2nd that...

The America Roadsters had the 965 brakes and suspension; whereas, the C4 wide body only incoroprated the Turbo body.

'94 U.S. Speedsters were narrow. They built half a dozen or so widebody euro cars, I think. The '89s were widebody.

PS: I have the '90 widebody that TR6 referred to:

Previous owner wanted a normally aspirated, widebody really bad. Spent $ 14k doing it using all factory parts in the mid 90s. It's not normally aspirated anymore

......and of course the 964 America Roadster was a non turbo, with wide body look. Made from 1992 to 1993.
