This is the next lift that I will buy, It answers most of the questions asked of a small space and it is perfect for engine removal. If anyone would like to buy my two post, I will help with delivery and setup.

I have a friend who has a similar one post lift but has wheels to make it portable.
I can't remember the manufacturer but I believe it to be a Swedish company.

101 inches - that's 5 inches over 8 feet - but still very doable if you don't mind cutting your ceiling.
Has anyone ever considered taking one of the 111+ inch models and just chopping the tops? I've never seen the tops up close so I don't know how difficult it would be.

Here are finally two pics. the first one is just after we have rolled the engine in under the bumper to put it back in the car. You see the engine lift to the right. The orange strap which is hanging lose over the bumper is tied to the rear engine bracket. When the car is lowered back on the stands we hooked that strap on to the lift and raised the engine up. A jack at the front/trans kept everything level. As said before, this was an easy and steady soloution to get the engine out. Under the engine you also see the little trolley.
