Default quick question - need verification

the 993 Gas tank will fit the 964 right?

Pet shows the following

993 201 021 00 Fuel tank for the 93+ models

but the 92's show
964 201 021 00 as the correct part number

i believe 993 201 021 00 superceeds the 964#

The cutoff dates are the VIN numbers listed in PET (and now below).
If your VIN is greater than the following you can use the 993 fuel tank.

96NS4 00190 - Coupe - ROW
96NS4 20104 - Coupe - USA/CAN
96NS4 30089 - Targa - ROW
96NS4 40086 - Targa - USA/CAN
96NS4 50122 - Cabriolet - ROW
96NS4 60158 - Cabriolet - USA/CAN
96NS4 70080 - Turbo - ROW
96NS4 80167 - Turbo - USA/CAN

otherwise use #964-201-921-00 and if you have a MY89-91 then you will also need a new hose #964-201-287-01, clip #999-512-195-02 and clamp #999-512-322-02.

If you see the letter A preceding a part number in PET that means the existing warehouse inventory will be used up and the part number superceded to the new number (usually listed below).

The 993 tanks superscede the the 964 tanks. IF you are looking for th M545 option (92l tank) it will come as a 993 part number.

my VIN is xxxx 420554
so it is greater than the #'s in PET for USA/Can and can use the 993 Tank

good - found one then (NOS)

i was thinking about using the 92L tank - however i don't need the extra capacity. Same story with a fuel cell - don't need the capability

Is this the tank you were referring to?

I'm pretty sure I have this one installed in the 964 Euro Cup, I've never checked the P/N

that would be interesting, can you check zee part number on the tank.
Normally the cups cars came only with the 16 gal tank (no need for an endurance tank)
the US cups came with the normal US spec tank (16.2 gal)
