From the heart of a WOMAN, be careful, lying is a crime and if you do lie, I hope you have soft palms.

BTDT - 25th wedding anniversary. Could have used that money + the RSA to get a cup car. It still allows for significant racing purchases, though I think that I'm using up that credit.

"25th wedding anniversary"
After 25 years with the same one , you bought a B.A. diamond for her ?
Did you fall down and hit your head real hard or something ?

1. I agree, lying is wrong. Getting it without asking permission, then facing the music after, is much more stand-up.

2. The palm thing isn't much of a threat to most married men.

What can I say? After 25 years (26 now) I'm kind of attached to her. And she's kind of attached to our bank account. Besides, I usually get what I want, so it's only fair.

+1

When I bought my 964 I bought it unannounced and drove it home. My wife was standing in the yard talking to the neighbor as I pulled into the driveway and she remarked, "Who do I know that owns that Porsche?" I yelled to her, get in, we gotta go get my truck.

No big deal, she knows it could have been worse. We've been married 21 years this December. She's very used to it.

I hope this isn't going to degrade into a "show your palms" thread.
Mine are calloused. From work. Real work.

For those of you who chose to circumvent your life partner through deceit, I don't get it. Perhaps it's all in jest. Even so, it's not funny. Not to me.

Our cars are fun, but not at the expense of someone else's dignity.

Okay, you can now resume beating on your chests or copperclad utensils.

Lighten up! This has all been a joke. MY wife has been reading it and thinks it's very funny. Everybody is just letting off steam as it's good to have a bit of a laugh with your cyber friends rather than always debating the finer points of tuning and repairing our wonderful cars.

It all comes down to balance. How much does your wife earn? Just make sure you payu a fair percentage against your living expenses, keep some for a rainy day and spend your money as you like....

If you are the only breadwinner in the house, then a) how did you let thah happen, and b) you have no comebacks....

You got to be kidding. Right? What is the point in haviung a wife if you don't make her work?

We have a great deal. She has a top job with regular income and pays all the living expenses. I work on projects that create capital growth to look after the future. In the years we have been married, I have only had 4 or 5 pay days! But when they happen, they tend to equal out or exceed what she has earnt so all is happy.

Not sure how it will work when we get to Oz. She has a job to go to, I have the beach and golf club. I will have to play "house husband" until I find a decent wealth creation scheme and I doubt I will be able to stick it for very long

"Lighten up!"

Simon,

Okay, you're probably right. I think I need a vacation. I've heard they can be very relaxing. :-)

Best wishes on your move and hope all the arrangements fall to your satisfaction.

Well... If she's been reading the thread I think the gig is up!

Simon needs to tell his wife that he needs the beach, the golf clubs AND a Porsche engine!
