Default number of motor and vin number match

I have looking for the engine number of my 964 tiptronic (Apr 01), and there is a possible mitmatch.
The chasis vin numbe is a ...MS406300 (one of the last 91 year production cars) and the engine number is 62L15770 (a 90 year motor?). Is it possible that the same car mitmach the letter (M and L) indicative of the year?.
My car has 96000 km (with revision book in the OPC from the previous owner) to discard a clocking, and the mounts of the engine seems that this has never been taken apart of the car.

Thanks for your opinions.

I think Adrian Streather's book has a table for matching these numbers... but I haven't tried it myself!

I don"t really understand the question , but thats not going to stop me .
You car get a chart for your car from porsche , that might tell you what you want to know .
Its a build sheet for your car and your car alone .
numbers , colors , options etc
