I have a confession....

It is still for sale. Owned 5 years by current owner. One concern is that it has "FPSH" - but he thinks that is per mileage, not annually - so because he's only done 8000 miles since buying it, he hasn't had it serviced. He swears he changes the oil / filter annually though (he said that without me asking him).
Had a new clutch when it had the engine rebuild 7K miles ago. Has decent tyres on it (SO2s). MOT is new. Tax (6 months) is new.
He was about to go out when I called - will be in this afternoon, and I will probably go and see it. Assuming he will show it to me - he seemed a bit reluctant to take the car cover off it if it's still raining....

It definitely won't be a ferrari - although it might still not be a 911. I couldn't see it yesterday - the weather was too bad. I now have a week to decide it's a good idea - but I am considering other cars as well.
I still quite fancy a supra - I liked the TT one I had. Not sure I want a TT one for a daily run around though - but I am considering an N/A import - and there is one fairly close to me. They are pretty cheap too - looks like you can pick them up for about £6-7K. Would be reliable - more so than a 24 year old 911 I should think - although harder to fix if it did go wrong.
On the other hand - I do quite fancy an older 911 and I am tempted if it's a good one for under £10K and just keep the focus anyway. I'm not entirely sure I can justify 3 cars + my girlfriends though.

Yep, familiar mirrors and brake calipers too. Must be the nearest thing to a 964 Estate! The RS2 was the product of a co-development project between Audi and Porsche, based on Audi's 80 Avant (station wagon).

It looks very likely that an old 911 may lose out to a Jap car.
The Supra that is close to me sounds too good to be true, and I just talked to the owner on the phone. He was saying some familiar things ("not many door dings 'cos I often park across 2 spaces"...) and it seems to tick all the right boxes.
I have booked to see it on Saturday. Even if he doesn't take an offer, it will only cost me about £2K more than my focus is worth - bargain.
I may still see the 911 at the weekend, but at the moment, I'm tending towards a Jap car. Should I be ashamed....?

I simply LOVE the early 911's and want to own one one day. I also fantasize about a 356 on a regular basis.
That said, I don't really like MY car as a commute car for long commutes (had some interviews over an hour away from home the last few weeks and it was just too tiring driving the 964). I would look at a second car for other purposes too...like trips to the DIY store and camping trips etc. A truck or comfy SUV makes a great second car for commuting and loading with shopping...then take the Porsche on high days and holidays for a treat! :P
