After the last weekend at the autocross school, I've really REALLY taken and incredible dislike to all those waterpumper cars. Damn them things.. they are quick! grrrrr.

Yeah.....when I was looking to buy one a few years ago, I came across a few pompous a-holes. They assumed because I looked fairly young, and was driving an older North American econo-box, I couldn't afford such a car. Little did they know, I had the cash sitting in my account ready for my purchase. My econo-box was and still is my winter beater.
This one guy wouldn't even let me take his '88 911 Coupe around the block for a test drive. I felt like waiving the $30 grand he was asking in his face and telling him he just blew a possible sale.
As it turned out...a year later, I got the Cabriolet I really wanted....I probably wouldn't have been happy with the coupe anyway.

BTW, I like the Porsche wave. I agree that it depends on each person. Most 993s and earlier 911s do it, but I've gotten a few Boxster owners - usually the older fellas. No Cayennes but they can't wave while driving and using the cell phone. I get a kick out of it and my son asks me why. I tell him that we are in a special club for just P-car owners - he thought that was cool

This last weekend, we local P-car owners participated in the Americana Manhasset Concour d'Elegance with other marques such as Ferrari, Rolls, Lamboghini, Aston, etc...
The Ferrari owners mostly farted in our general direction... Yea, they sound awesome but I know (good friend sells high-line autos) that any Ferrari owner pays the price in repairs...
Point is that it's everywhere. Any car you own. I even act all bada** in my neighborhood.
I just tell myself: "There's always a bigger fish..." I just focus on enjoying the car I have waited 30 years to have...

Actually thinking very hard about this, I love wine and cheese too. I think a good applewood smoked cheddar and a new world cabernet sauvignon ! You just won't see me in a porsche magazine partaking in this activity, strictly behind closed doors for me, nudge nudge !

Our Porsche club seems to sponsor many wine-tastings. 
Bet there's cheese there, too.
I have never attended, but would like to. Just have to remember to not end up on my lips and have to take a cab home. Probably not good form.
